What is an AAD?
An Automatic Activation Device is a safety unit fitted to a parachute rig that automatically deploys the reserve canopy if a skydiver is still falling fast below a set altitude. The Vigil is one of the most widely used AADs in the sport.
Is this the real Vigil?
No. AADLab Vigil is a simulator, a training tool that mirrors the display, controls, and behaviour of the real Vigil 2 Cuatro so you can practise safely. It is not produced by, endorsed by, or affiliated with AAD nv/sa (Advanced Aerospace Designs). It is not a substitute for the official manual or for proper instructor training.
Does it work offline?
Yes. The entire app works without an internet connection. Nothing is uploaded, and nothing is downloaded after install. Train with it on the plane, at the DZ, or anywhere.
Does the app collect any data?
No. No accounts, no analytics, no trackers, no third-party SDKs. Your preferences and last-used device state are stored only on your device. See our privacy policy for the full statement.
Why does the app ask for location or motion access?
Only for an optional animated background (a compass that shows dropzone bearings and responds to phone tilt). Those readings stay on your device and are never collected. If you decline, the training, scenarios, and playground all work exactly the same.
Why does haptic feedback feel different on Android?
On iPhone, the Taptic Engine can produce genuinely distinct Light, Medium, and Heavy impacts, so we offer all four settings. On Android, most vibration motors can't differentiate those levels, so we surface a simple On/Off toggle instead.
How do I change language?
Open Settings from the home screen and pick your language. Choices are English, German, Spanish, French, Italian, Portuguese, and Russian.
How do I reset the simulator to defaults?
Settings, then Reset Simulator. This clears your saved profile and restores the unit to a fresh state, which is handy for practising the full first-time setup.
I found a bug. How do I report it?
Email vistas.promo-7e@icloud.com with your device model, OS version, and the steps that led to the issue. A screenshot or short screen recording helps enormously.
Will there be more lessons and scenarios?
Yes. New scenarios are added in ongoing updates. If you have a location, hazard, or drop-zone situation you'd like turned into a training scenario, send the idea our way.
